ATLANTA (AP) ? Plotting a comeback, Newt Gingrich is looking beyond Tuesday's Republican primaries in Michigan and Arizona and counting on Southern voters to rejuvenate his struggling presidential campaign.
Gingrich is pinning his hopes on winning Georgia and showing strength in Tennessee, Oklahoma and other Super Tuesday states voting March 6. The former House speaker was starting a three-day bus tour in Georgia, which he represented in Congress for 20 years, to fend off rivals Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum.
By skipping Michigan and Arizona, Gingrich was betting that one of his rivals will emerge from Tuesday's primaries a weaker candidate, giving Gingrich a chance to become the main alternative to the front-runner and claw his way back into the topsy-turvy race.
Gingrich has acknowledged that winning Georgia is crucial to his campaign but has stopped short of saying a loss there would force him out of race.
Gingrich said Tuesday that taking a week away from the latest primaries to develop his message about gasoline prices would pay off.
"I think you're going to find that the Gingrich plan to get back to $2.50 a gallon is going to have a lot of appeal to a lot of people," he told NBC's "Today" show.
On Fox News Channel, Gingrich rejected the suggestion that presidents can't really do much to lower prices at the pump. "That's such total absolute baloney," Gingrich said, adding that as president he would allow increased domestic drilling and approve the Keystone XL pipeline from Canada to Texas.
Gingrich disputed talk that his campaign is in decline, saying he's working methodically to build up his delegate support. Gingrich said he believed he'd do well in the Super Tuesday contests and then go on to win both Alabama and Mississippi.
Asked about speculation that his relatively poor standing could force him to the sidelines, Gingrich said such talk isn't new. "I've been down this road before," he said.

There will local volunteers who will be there on the day to assist in the supervising and managing of children on the day.
This fun filled day will introduce children to an enjoyable aspect of basketball and show them what can be gained from it: healthy lifestyle, exercise and friendship. If we were unfortunate enough to have been born a few hundred years earlier, we would be signing our death warrants just for even daring to think this way!
However the underlying roots of all of these teachings are the vaery same principles which have been at the heart of earlier forms and beliefs in Judaism, Kaballah and even christianity, and you will find echoes of the principles littered throughout the bible as well. The difficulty is that most modern thinkers don?t quite know how to explain it best or put it into it?s proper and rightful perspective. Let me clarify that I am NOT referring to the modern teachings of these disciplines, nor am I referring to Britney and madonnas version of Kabbalah, I am referring more along the lines of the stuff taught by Carlos Saures and others ? the REALLY mystical stuff!
NLP, Hypnotherapy, and even the Quantum Physics stuff, including the versions peddled by Ramtha et al,only really does permit us to ask the question ?What the BLEEP do we know?! Indeed, when we are really only scratching the surface, o it is not really a lot, and humanity still has a great deal to RE- learn concerning these things.
The ideaology behind many of these ?teachings? is no different from those espoused by none other than Jesus Christ. Now I don?t buy into religion, but that don?t mean I knock the things the man said, and I am speaking as one brought up with much of the phoney hypocritical side of religion stuffed down my throat.
The fundamentals are exactly what JC taught regarding all things, in other words, in order for something to become a reality in your own existence, the fundamental requirement is that you MUST believe that it is possible so to do ? and belief means a belief so deep rooted that it is echoed with EVERY fibre of your being ? biblically that would be ?with all of your heart, with all of your mind and with all of your soul? ? as in the way that we are required to love god.

The contrary notion is also clearly evidenced in the bible, showing that Jesus wasn?t in fact the ?miracle? creator that religion paints him as, but that the individuals on whom the ?miracle? was being performed was primarily involved in the outcome: ?And he (Jesus) did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief.? (Matthew 13:58)

?As he thinketh in his heart, so shall he be? ? (Solomon ? Proverbs 27v3) ?Whatsoeve a man soweth, the same shall he also reap?

How can there be ?substance? and ?evidence? of something that is not yet seen ? Clearly alluding to the notion of ?thought? being a ?spiritual? power, or as quantum theory would put it, it is an ?energy?.
These are just SOME of the many many little gems of these teachings which have existed for thousands and thousands of years, but which men were forbidden from discussing or teaching by ?the church?, and where anbody who discussed anything different from what the church allowed was tortured or killed!
The bottom line is, as many modern writers have quoted from ancient sources, whether you believe it will or whether you believe it will not, either way, YOU ARE RIGHT!
The idea of ?believing? or ?creating? within your own ?reality? that you can ?win the lottery? as someone joked about earlier, is not so much that this is not possible, but is dependent on whether one truly does believe this is a possibility, and the reasons behind why it could become a possibility ? in other WHY would you want to win the lottery? Just to be filthy rich? Just to prove that some ?theory? works ? Either reason would invalidate the many other laws and principles which govern these things, again you could look to the bible and you would find answers:
?thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God? ( cant work just to prove a theory) ?The love of money is the root of all evil? ( cant work just to be filthy rich) ?You ask and receive not, because ye ask amiss? (cant work for any improper or immoral purpose)
Each of these responses is dependent upon conditions of the heart and mind. With these properly aligned for all of the right purposes and with absolute belief that it could happen, then that lottery win can be achieved. If it didn;t happen, then that was because in your mind you wanted it to be, and with your mind you sought to convince your heart that your reasons for it were ?genuine? and ?bona fide?, but ultimately, the universe (and god) knows the truth for ?it is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart?, and it also tells us that ?the heart is deceitful and desperately wicked above all things? and that a ?mans heart deceiveth him?!!
There?s a lot more to all of this than just saying little repetitous words, and just ?thinking? the right things. there has to be real commitment, sincerity, and so many other of those ?biblical? principles behind them for these things to be achieved.
Most of the ?new ager? guru?s and teachers haven?t quite caught up on these aspects of it yet.

Deere says 1Q profit up 4 percent on strong sales (AP)
Deere & Co. posted a 4 percent jump in its quarterly profits thanks to strong equipment sales, but some expected better and potential headwinds from currency exchange rates overshadowed even a healthier outlook.
Shares dipped nearly 4 percent and other industrials fell as well, making it the worst performing sector on the Standard & Poor's 500 index.
The world's largest maker of agricultural equipment posted first-quarter earnings of $532.9 million, or $1.30 per share in its fiscal first quarter. That's up from $513.7 million, or $1.20 per share, last year.
Deere's quarterly revenue grew 11 percent to $6.77 billion from last year's $6.12 billion.
The results topped Wall Street expectations, but Deere's 11 percent sales growth fell short of the 16 percent to 18 percent growth the company had predicted for the quarter. Analysts surveyed by FactSet expected earnings per share of $1.23 on revenue of $6.56 billion, on average.
Deere's stock slid nearly 4 percent, or $3.18, to $85.87 in afternoon trading.
Deere, based in Moline, Ill., says it still expects equipment sales to be up about 15 percent in fiscal 2012, but the company now predicts net income of $3.275 billion, up from last fall's forecast of $3.2 billion in net income.
It was a solid quarter, Credit Suisse analyst Jamie Cook said, but the outlook for the year was only modestly improved. She said there will be questions about why Deere was so conservative.
Executives said their outlook for the year would have been higher, but the company now expects exchange rates will cost the company about $100 million this year. Without those costs, sales growth would have reached about 19 percent, Deere said.
CEO Samuel Allen the Deere is investing in numerous new products and seven new factories throughout the world in preparation for stronger demand as the economy improves and developing countries improve infrastructure.
Key markets are "in the early stages of recovery," Allen said.
Edward Jones analyst Jeff Windau the quarter looked good initially, but investors may have been bothered by the lower-than-predicted sales figure and headwinds related to research and development, as well as foreign exchange rates.
"I think there was a good headline number with the earnings beat," Windau said. "I think as people started to dig in a little deeper, there's just a few items that raise questions."
Deere forecast that U.S. farm income will decline to $103.9 billion this year from last year's $115.7 billion, and Windau said that might make some investors nervous because a drop in farm income usually hurts tractor sales.
Deere predicted 10 percent growth industrywide for agricultural equipment sales in Canada and the U.S., but it tempered its forecast for some other regions. Deere predicts ag sales in Asia will increase only moderately this year because tractor sales in India will likely be flat. Agricultural sales in South America may also be flat or even down 5 percent because of drought. Deere officials predict their sales will exceed those industrywide predictions.
Research and development costs will likely grow about 12 percent in 2012, Deere said, as it rolls out more new models to comply with tighter emissions standards. That's slightly higher than the 10 percent growth in costs that Deere had earlier predicted.
During the first quarter, Deere said equipment sales grew 11 percent. Sales outside the United States and Canada led the way with a 21 percent increase while sales in those two countries grew only 5 percent.
Deere said it was also helped by strong 22 percent sales growth in its construction and forestry division. That unit contributed $1.4 billion to Deere's sales in the quarter, up from $1.1 billion a year ago.
Quarterly sales of the company's agriculture and turf equipment grew 8 percent to $4.7 billion from last year's $4.4 billion. Deere expects sales percentage growth of 15 percent in the sector for the year, with farmers in major markets seeing strong demand.

?I know that without financial aid I would not be at Wesleyan, nor would the majority of our students,? Jones said. ?Although for a small private university Wesleyan is affordable, the fact is that Texas Wesleyan is still not cheap.?

Libya wants Gaddafi son extradited (Reuters)
TRIPOLI (Reuters) ? Libya urged Niger on Saturday to extradite Muammar Gaddafi's son Saadi, saying his call for Libyans to prepare for a "coming uprising" threatened bilateral ties.
In response, Niger pledged to tighten house surveillance of Saadi, who fled south to the West African state in September as Libyan rebels gained the upper hand over Gaddafi's forces. But it reiterated that Saadi could not be handed over to a state where he could face execution.
In a telephone call to Al Arabiya television late on Friday, Saadi said that he was in regular contact with people in Libya who were unhappy with the authorities put in place after the ousting and killing of his father.
"The council demands that the Niger government extradite Saadi and those who are with him to the Libyan authorities as soon as possible to maintain the relationship with the Libyan people," National Transitional Council spokesman Mohammed al-Harizy said, reading out a statement to reporters.
"They should follow the Algerian government which prevented Gaddafi's daughter from making statements or causing any trouble from their land," he said, adding that NTC Chairman Mustafa Abdel Jalil had called Niger's president to discuss Saadi.
Algeria ordered members of Gaddafi's family in exile on its territory to stay out of politics, after Gaddafi's daughter Aisha angered the Libyan government by telling the media her father was still fighting to hold onto power.
The Libyan News Agency LANA earlier said Niger's Foreign Minister Bazoum Mohamed and his Libyan counterpart Ashour Bin Hayal had spoken by telephone. It quoted Bin Hayal as saying Saadi's comments "threaten the bilateral relationship between the two countries."
Authorities in Niger signaled that their position on any future extradition of Saadi had not changed.
"We will hand over Saadi Gaddafi to a government which has an independent and impartial justice system," government spokesman Marou Amadou told a hastily convened news conference.
"But we cannot hand over someone to a place where he could face the death penalty or where he is not likely to have a trial worthy of the name," he added.
TIGHTER SURVEILLANCE
Amadou acknowledged that Saadi's comments violated a condition of his stay in Niger not to engage in subversion against the Libyan authorities, and pledged tighter surveillance of his residence in the capital Niamey.
"Measures have already been taken by the government so that this never happens again," he said without elaborating.
In his televised phone call, Saadi said he was in contact from Niger with the Libyan army, militias, the NTC and other members of the Gaddafi family.
"The National Council confirms that there was not and there will not be any communication or negotiation with Saadi or anyone from the former regime," said Harizy, the NTC spokesman.
"We assure the Libyan people that neither Saadi nor anyone else can raise the Gaddafi flag on Libyan soil ... Let Saadi know and whoever is standing behind him that the February 17 revolutionaries have not put down their weapons yet and they are ready to face any foolish attempt with force."
Interpol last year issued a "red notice" requesting member states to arrest Saadi with a view to extradition if they find him on their territory. Niger has cited other reasons for not extraditing Saadi, including a United Nations travel ban on him.
It has pledged to comply with commitments to the Hague-based International Criminal Court, which has not indicted Saadi, who before the war was best known for his soccer obsession.
The ICC has indicted Saadi's brother Saif al-Islam for crimes against humanity. Saif al-Islam, once viewed as a likely successor to his father, is held by a militia in Libya, where he awaits trial on rape and murder charges.
In an interview broadcast by France 24 on Saturday but recorded before Saadi's interview was aired, Niger President Mahamadou Issoufou had earlier stated that Niger would study any extradition request on strict legal merits.
"If we receive an official request we will study it. We are a state based on the rule of law. We will study that question according to our laws and our international commitments," Issoufou told France 24.
The Libyan conflict has created new problems for the fragile region to its south. Heavily armed former fighters from Gaddafi's army have joined a new rebellion in northern Mali that has forced tens of thousands to flee from their homes.

Straying away from Chapter 8 in the Outliers, in the previous chapters there was talk about communication issues and how it affected flight crashes.? Gladwell talked about how it wasn?t one mistake that led to a plane crash, it was multiply?small?mistakes?that pile ontop of eachother.? Like a chain reaction.??One of these major mistakes that was pointed out was?the pilots communication with the air traffic controllers.? For the air traffic controllers the pilots need to be straight forward with there commands and requests.? There has to be common ground because the slightest addition of a word or subtraction of a word can turn the meaning of the command totally upside down.
After reading about this I immediately related in to how people communicate with eachother in relationships and friendships and such.? I feel exactly how the air traffic controllers feel, if you want to get your point across to someone you have to precise and to the point. But most importantly you have to be honest.? I feel honesty is the most important aspect in a relationship or friendship, it is what will tie everything together with trust being the glue.? If you are not honest, and are not straight to the point, the meaning or your statement with be obscure.? Just like the commands to the air traffic controllers, and your relationship /friendship will suffer, just like the planes had crashed.

For pregnant women with cancer, chemo possible (AP)
LONDON ? Researchers have encouraging news for women who find themselves in a very frightening situation: having cancer while pregnant. Studies suggest that these women can be treated almost the same as other cancer patients are, with minimal risk to the fetus.
Only about 1 in 1,000 pregnant women face this dilemma, but doctors fear that more will because the risk of cancer rises with age, and more women are delaying having children until they're older.
Doctors have long worried about how to balance treating a pregnant woman with cancer and the need to protect her fetus from the effects of toxic cancer drugs and radiation treatments, and whether it is safe to continue a pregnancy in certain situations. A series of papers in the journals Lancet and Lancet Oncology published Friday make several key contributions:
? A Belgian-led study of 70 children in Europe exposed to chemotherapy while they were in the womb found they developed just as well as other children, according to tests on their hearts, IQ and general health. They were assessed at birth, 18 months, and every few years until age 18.
? Chemotherapy after the first trimester is possible, using extra ultrasounds to ensure the baby is developing properly. Radiation therapy is best done in the first two trimesters, when the baby is small enough to be covered with a lead blanket, according to a review of previous studies, led by Belgian researchers.
? Ending the pregnancy doesn't improve chances for the mother, the same study found.
? The type of cancer seems to matter: An Israeli analysis of past research suggested pregnant women with blood cancers might want to terminate an early pregnancy when chemotherapy can't be delayed.
? Another review of previous studies by French and American researchers concluded doctors should aim to preserve pregnancy in women with cervical or ovarian cancers where possible.
"Many (doctors) aren't keen to give chemotherapy to pregnant women and may even recommend termination," said Dr. Frederic Amant of the Leuven Cancer Institute in Belgium, an author of two of the papers. "But treating a pregnant woman with cancer doesn't have to be so different from treating a cancer patient who isn't pregnant."
Amant, who led the study of 70 children, said most of the children with cognitive problems were born premature, and that was probably the primary cause of their delayed development.
"Doctors will often err on the side of caution and deliver a baby early to avoid the effects of chemotherapy," said Dr. Catherine Nelson-Piercy, an obstetric physician and spokeswoman for Britain's Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.
"These data don't say that chemotherapy is completely safe, but the baby is better off being in (the mother) as long as possible," she said. Nelson-Piercy was not linked to the Lancet series and often works with pregnant women diagnosed with cancer or other illnesses.
Dr. Richard Theriault, a professor of medicine at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Texas, said he hoped the papers would change how doctors treat pregnant cancer patients.
"Terminating a pregnancy is not always necessary," said Theriault, who heads a program to treat pregnant women with cancer. He said a minority of pregnant women with cancer still get abortions.
He said the placenta seems to act as a kind of filter for chemotherapy drugs, restricting their effects on the fetus. "There's the phenomenon of the bald mother who gives birth to a baby with a full head of hair," he said. "It seems to suggest not as much gets to the baby as we thought."
That was certainly Caroline Swain's experience, who was diagnosed with breast cancer while pregnant with her second son. She had her left breast and many lymph nodes removed and had to wait until her fetus was 12 weeks old before starting chemotherapy.
"I was just so grateful it was possible to have treatment and keep my baby," said Swain, 45, who lives near London. "I was scared that my child wouldn't remember me if something happened to me."
Her son Luke, now 9, weighed in at 7.4 pounds (3.35 kilograms) when he was born, only slightly lighter than his older brother Max a year earlier.
"We had celebrations all around when Luke came out absolutely fine," Swain said of her and her husband Rowland's relief at the birth. "Luke is no different from his brother," she said. "They both love Legos and X-Box."

I believe that having a travel and leisure element to your budget is a good thing, even if it?s a small percentage of your overall living expenses. I find one of the best ways to stretch our cash is to take a UK staycation. At the end of last month we spent two nights at the Travelodge Edinburgh West End and only paid ?12 a night for our room, purchased during the Travelodge Winter 2011 Sale.

While that Travelodge isn?t going to win any architectural awards, the hotel is in a quiet location, close the city centre, the family rooms are a good size and comfortable and there?s even free wifi in the Bar Cafe. We drove to Edinburgh for our short break, so paid an additional ?3 a night to park at the hotel. However you could walk to the hotel from Haymarket Station in around 15 minutes, so could use the train if you found a cheap ticket.
You can pay for a Travelodge breakfast buffet which costs ?7.56 per adult, kids eat free with an paying adult. We usually take some food with us and prepare our breakfast in the room to save more.
The hotel is situated on the Water of Leith, so you can take a riverside walk.? The Scottish Galleries of Modern Art (free to enter) are a five minute walk from the hotel. On the Sunday we ate lunch at Jimmy Chungs Chinese Buffet for ?7 each.

Axl Rose, lead singer of the all-American hard rockers Guns N' Roses, hits the half-century mark today. Let's celebrate by aiming the hairspray can at THAT?birthday cake.
It's hard to argue against Rose's place among rock's biggest success stories of the '80s and '90s. His voice and stage presence were a big arena rock middle finger to dance and pop music. And love him or hate him for it, Rose and his band gave some an antidote to the grunge movement and a moping class of Northwest rockers.
